Mexicans Honour Our Lady of Guadalupe
IN Mexico 250,000 workers have observed the first anniversary of the proclamation of Our Lady of Guadalupe as Queen of Workers by praying before the cloak which bears her miraculous image. The workers filed through the Guadalupe basilica for 10 hours. More than 1,000 children made their first Holy Communion there. Later, Archbishop Miranda celebrated Mass on the spot where Our Lady is said to have appeared to the Indian Juan Diego 425 years ago. He blessed and distributed roses, recalling those which Our Lady provided as a sign at the same time as she caused her image to be imprinted on Juan's cloak.
