POPE JOHN PAUL II received the first "Special Israeli Diplomatic
Representative" accredited to the Holy See, at Vatican City last week. Dr
Shmuel Hadas is the first envoy from Israel to Vatican City. The Vatican last month announced the appointment of their first envoy to Israel, Mgr Adrea Cordero Lanza di Montezemelo, who will have the task of paving the way to full diplo matic relations. Photo: PA
