"Shame" of Calvi death revelations

NEW revelations this week of the mystery death of Italian banker Roberto Calvi ten years ago in London could be embarassing for the Vatican.
According to a Wall Street Journal report, a former director of Rothschild's Bank in Switzerland paid two killers E5 million to kill Calvi, known as "God's banker" in Italy because of bank's close business ties with the Vatican bank, Institute for Religious Works.
The director, named as Juerg Heer, was senior executive and credit manager until last July of the Zurich branch of the Rothschild Bank. He said he had been ordered to pay th men by the now outlawed Italian Masonic Lodge, Propaganda Two, accused of plotting a right wing coup in Italy.
The Lodge knew that then Vatican bank director, Chicago-born Archbishop Paul Marcinkus, had advised Calvi to seek funds in London to cover the imminent fraudulent crash of the Banco Ambrosiano.
