Southwark.-At Upper Norwood on Thursday last week,Bishop Cowderoy conferred the priesthood on the Revs'. Anthony Ahhotts, Pierre Barbyer and Terence McLean-Wilson. He conferred the diaconate on the Rev. Edward Grady and Bro. Simon. O.F.M. Cap. At the Xaverian College, Mayfield. on Sunday the Bishop conferred the priesthood on the Rev. Godfrey de Putron.

Canon G. B. Pippet
Canon Gregory Bernard Pippet. Theologian of the Hexham and Newcastle Chapter and parish priest since 1937 of St. Godric's, Durham, died last week, aged 78.
Canon Pippet. born in Solihull. Warwicks, was also at one time secretary to the Chapter and master of ceremonies to the Bishop.
Educated at Ushaw College and taking his M.A. degree at Durham University. Canon Pippet was ordained at Ushaw in 1904. He remained there for 12 years as professor of classics, and was prefect of studies for six years.
In 1916 he was appointed to St. Joseph's. Blaydon, where he remained for 21 years. He was named Canon in 1913.
Iwo of his sisters are nuns. One is Superior of the Poor Clares' Convent at York. the other Superior of the Benedictine Convent at Teignmouth.
Fr. Antony Dillon
Fr. Antony Dillon, an assistant priest at the Church of Our Lady and the English Martyrs. Cambridge, who died last week. 10 days after a motor cycle accident, was born 30 years ago in Bolton.
Fr. Dillon was educated at the Salesian College, Chertsey. and for the priesthood at St. Edmund's College. the Westminster seminary, He was ordained for the Northampton diocese in July. 1949. by the Bishop of Salford in the Cenacte Convent, Manchester.
Fr. Dillon served at Northampton Cathedral before going to Cambridge last year.
Mr. J. G. Morgan
One of the earliest members of the Hexham and Newark Diocesan Association of Catholic Trade Unionists Mr. J. G. Morgan. J.P., M.B.E., died in Newcastle last week. He was 67.
Mr. Morgan spent. 40 years in the trade union movement and, Northern Organiser for the Natonal Union of General and Municipal Workers. He was a member of the West Hartlepool Town Council for four years.
