Le Mans : The Pope prays for the sufferers

pHE Holy Father has expressed L his "deepest sorrow and heartfelt condolences" over the Le Mans motor race disaster, in which more than SO spectators were killed.
I a message to Cardinal Drente, Archbishop of Le Mans, His Holiness expressed his " paternal sorrow for the very grave tragedy, which has struck the city, the diocese and the entire nation." he Pope invoked' eternal peace for the victims and prayed for Divine comfort for their families, for the injured and for all others affected.
nests were among the first to reach the scene of the disaster. Many people camp out all night on the Saturday of a race and priests go regularly on the Sunday to say Masses in a field close to the track.
