St Bede’s students enjoy ball
CATHOLIC STUDENTS from St Bede’s College near Manchester have held their annual leavers’ ball at the City of Manchester Stadium, home of Manchester City football club.
One hundred and sixty students and staff enjoyed a three-course meal with music by jazz singer Howard Wing.
James Carroll, head boy, and Christina Quinn, head girl, gave speeches. They reflected on their time at St Bede’s and made presentations to members of staff.
The evening was rounded off by soul singer Wayne Allen and DJ Darren O, who played disco tunes.
The new head of sixth form, Dean Grierson, said: “It was a lovely evening. The students looked fantastic and behaved impeccably as usual. As a Manchester City fan, to hold the event in our own outstanding stadium in Eastlands was the icing on the cake.”
