Priest attacks Bottomley

A CATHOLIC priest has attacked Health Secretary Virginia Bottomley for "selling out" to condom manufacturers.
Fr Brian Storey, parish priest of St Paul's, Tintagel; in Cornwall and founder of the International Crusade for Moral Reform, condemned Ms Bottomley's advocacy of safe sex with condoms, issued in the Government White Paper, Health of the Nation, released last week.
Fr Storey claimed that Ms Bottomley's position would promote rather than curb the spreading of venereal diseases and AIDS. He said the Government viewed youngsters as "cannon fodder" for contraceptionists.
Fr Storey urged youngsters of all faiths to consider chastity, which would not "lead them into traumatic experiences they encounter such as pregnancy, underage sex and certain diseases."
