HYDRO ELECTRIC WORKERS BUILD THEIR OWN CHURCH

PITLOCHRY.
Under the direction of foreman James MacBride, of Creishla, Co. Donegal, an international squad of workers, including Scotsmen, Irishmen, Englishmen, and Welshmen, is making rapid progress in the building of the new church at Pitlochry.
The church will primarily be for the many Catholic workers employed in the Hydro Electric Scheme in this part of the Perthshire Highlands.
Pitlochry's residents gather daily to watch the progress of the building operations.
BISHOP'S VISIT
During a recent visit to Pitlochry Bishop Scanlan of Dunkeld expressed pleasure and admiration at the work being done.
While the biggest share of the work has fallen on to men of the Fincastle and Port-na-Craig camps. one of the features of the enterprise is the way in which the camps, generally. have organised to provide funds.
Committees have been formed at Fincastle, Port-na-Craig. Tummell Falls and Dalcroy, and weekly collections are taken up. The workers are responding magnificently to this method of " footing the bill."
TRAINING PRIESTS FOR ABROAD

With approval of the Holy See, the metropolitan Archbishops of Spain have founded the Obra Sacer dotal Hispanoarnericana (Lat i nAmerican Priestly Organisation),
It will prepare diocesan priests of Spanish nationality who wish to go to Latin America and the Philippines to work there in dioceses lacking a sufficient number of clergy.
Jesuit Provincial Is Honoured
THE HAGUE.
On the occasion of the 1000 anniversary of the erection of the Province of Holland of the Society of Jesus, Queen Juliana of The Netherlands has named Fr. Cornelis Kerremans, Si., the present provincial, an officer of the Order of OrangeNassau.
Up to 1849, the Jesuits in The Netherlands belonged to the Belgian Province. In that year, Fr. Rothaan, General of the Society, granted to the Jesuit missions in Holland the full rights of a separate province.
Archbishop's New Post
VATICAN Ore.
The Pope has appointed Mgr. Gabriele Reyes. Archbishop of Cebu, coadjutor to the Archbishop of Manila. Vatican officials announced. Mgr. Reyes has the right of succession to the present Archbishop of Manila, Mgr. Michael James O'Doherty.
