THE REPORT last week that the Inner London Education Authorit!, had called for an open access approach to the new Sixth Form College on the Clapham College site in Southwark Diocese did not imply that nonCatholics should attend. The call was directed to academic matters.
Mass for election
TO MARK the third anniversary of the election of Pope John Paul II, the Apostolic Delegate will celebrate High Mass in Westminster Cathedral on Sunday October 25 at 1030 a.m.
Let live
THE MEETING of Let Live. the pro-life caring organisation, on October 24 at Southwark Cathedral is an annual gettogether for helpers. Mr Michael Bell of the Association of Lawyers for the Defence of the Unborn is to speak on how the law can help girls. Let Live is a charity which has no political involvement.
Scout Mass
THE AVON Catholic Scouts and Girl Guides celebrated their Silver Jubilee on Sunday. October 4, 1981, marked by a special Mass at Clifton Cathedral which was attended by 800 Scouts, Girl Guides, Cubs and Brownies and their friends. Bishop Alexander was the principal concelebrant and preacher at the Mass.
Salford
BISHOP Thomas Holland of Salford will celebrate Mass to mark the third anniversary of the inauguration of Pope John Paul II next Thursday, in St John's Cathedral, Salford, at 7.30pm.
Music weekend
A PARISH music weekend directed by Christopher Walker for those interested or involved in liturgical music in parishes or schools is being run by Southwark Liturgy Commission at Digby Stuart College, Roehampton, from January 8 to 10.
Generous Scots
SCOTTISH Catholics last year donated a total of more than half a million pounds to the missions in a letter that was read last week in masses throughout Scotland. Bishop James Monaghan, of St Andrews and Endinburgh. reminded Catholics of the words of Pope John Paul II for 1981 World Mission Sunda, in which the Pope called for "the collaboration of all churches in the evangelisation of the world."
