OBITUARY
Fr Fume Kennedy, palish priest of Market Weighton, Yorkshire, and chaplain to Houghton Hall, where he lived for 35 years. He celebrated his 60th year as priest last year. Fr Kennedy was ordained in 1912, at Birr, Co Offaly, Eire. In 1914 he joined the Army as chaplain with Fr W. Finn, who was later killed at the Dardanelles. He retired 20 years ago to a country cottage at Ilayton, Yorkshire.
Fr Terence McAlinden, parish priest of the Church or the Most Precious Blood, Sidmouth, Devon, since 1968, aged 53. Ile was born in Belfast and educated at St Malaehy's College there and All Ilallows College, Dublin. Ile was ordained in 1947 and spent his priestly life in Devon — in Ply mouth, Exmouth, Torquay and Braunton belore going to Sidmouth. One of his seven brothers is Fr Placid. 0 Cist, of Mellifont Abbey.
Percy John Sylvester, manager of the Art and Book Shop, the Catholic publishers and church furnishers of Buckingham Palace Road, from the 1940s until his retirement in 1956. He was 86.
After service in the 1914-18 war he joined the late Mr Joseph Henry Bartlett at the Art and Book Company, He is survived by his wife, whom he married in 1916, two daughters, three sons, eleven grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
