There is speculation in Vatican City about the possibility of an eventual resumption of contacts between the Holy See and the United States, following a 15minute visit to the Holy Father last week by Mr. Myron Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was formerly President Truman's personal envoy to the Holy See, but (resigned for reasons of health some eighteen months ago and the position has not since been filled.
Now Mr. Taylor's private audience with the Pope has raised the hope that official Vatican-U.S. contacts may be restored.
