THE VIGIL PILGRIMS CHEERED IN MALTA
T1-I1RTY-SIX members of the All Night Vigil Group, flown to Malta in connection with the celebrations in honour of the 19th centenary of St. Paul's shipwreck, were enthusiastically cheered this week by Maltese and other visitors to the island.
The leader of the Group, the Hon. Mrs. Henrietta Bower, telephoning the Camotic HERALD from Malta as we went to Press, told us that the box of petitions taken from England were carried in procession and laid before the statue of St. Paul on the Shipwreck Island.
The Archbishop of Malta said Mass for the English pilgrims and asked them to pray for Malta "now surrounded by dangers, materialistic ones among them."
The pilgrims, Mrs. Bower added, were so impressed by all they experienced that they have suggested that the AU Night Vigil Group should return to the Island yearly.
