St. Edward's College, Malta

The foundress of St. Edward's College at Malta, Lady Strickland. heard a gratifying account of the progress of that institution at the recent prize day celebration. Among other notable visitors to the college for the ocoasion were Lieut.-General Sir Charles Bonham Carter, KCAL C.M.G., D.S.O., Governor of Malta; the Lieutenant-Governor, Sir Harry Luke, C.M.G., Lord Strickland; Admiral Sir Dudley Pound, K.C.B., Commander-in-Chief of the Mediterranean Fleet; Judge Sir Augustus Bartolo; ViceAdmiral Sir W. F. French, K.C.B., C.M.G.; Lady Bonham Carter, Lady French, and Lady Pound.
The report of the Rector, the Rev. F. Kerr MeClement, D.C.L., M.A., R.N. (retired), pointed to many successes during 1935-36, a year of good work crowned by results of the Oxford Local Examinations. On the matter of the boys' future after leaving the college, Dr. McClement was able to report that, of the boys who have left St. Edward's, all those of sufficient age are well placed or are studying for examinations which will lead to good positions in life.
