SPAN'S prime minister met the president of the Catholic bishops' conference last week in a bid to improve relations between Church and state.
Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero met Archbishop Antonio Maria Rouco Varela of Madrid last Friday. In a press conference afterwards a spokesman for the government said it would offer its co-operation for World Youth Day in Madrid in 2011.
