THREE WERE BEHEADED

China persecution report CHINESE Communists murdered 4.--• 166 priests, laybrothers and nuns over the past eight years. Among other forms of execution, sonic were dragged and beaten to death, three were beheaded, one was buried alive and one burned alive.
Of these victims. 99 were Chinese priests, 39 foreign priests, 24 were Chinese laybrothers and four were Chinese nuns.
The victims' names. with dates and places of execution. arc included in "The Systematic Destruction of the Catholic Church in China," a report written by Fr. Thomas Bauer. of Maryknoll, a veteran China missionary and journalist.
This documentation of 20th-century methods of crushing Christianity goes on to list the names of 364 foreign Catholic missionaries who have been or are held in Red jails in China, and states that at the beginning of this year 400 Chinese priests were also in prison.
