SALESIANS TAKE 550 TO ROME

THE largest group of pilgrims from England at the Holy Father's Mass in St. Peter's on Easter Sunday was composed of 550 Salesian parents, cooperators and teachers representing 39 schools who left London on Holy Thursday evening.
The group also included some from Scotland and Ireland and members of the Catholic Workers! movement from Northern industrial towns.
After five days in Rome they went on to visit the tomb of the Salesian founder. St. John Bosco, in Turin.
Five airplanes took 150 members of the Belvedere Past Pupils' Association from Dublin to Rome. A second air party numbered 80.
Another group of flying pilgrims will leave Ringport Airport, Manchester, on Sunday. led by Fr. G. Larkin, of St. James's, Pendleton.
Two hundred Ursuline schoolgirls left London for Rome on Tuesday.
Parents' sacrifice
Parents of some of the 21 boys of the Xaverian College. Brighton, who left for Rome on 1 uesday gave up their own holiday plans to pay their sons' fares.
Several pilgrimages have been arranged for boys and girls in Hull. The first group, composed of 39 girls from Si. Mary's Secondary School, with 12 of the staff and eight other adults, spent Holy Week in Rome.
Thirty-six boys. with three masters. went from St. Joseph's College, 1 pswich.
Four motor coaches with 128 pilgrims for Rome left Preston on Saturday. led by Fr. R. Scott, Si. They formed 4 club four years ago to pay the cost by instalments.
A second contingent left by coach on Monday to join the other party in Rome.
