Slovak Pilgrimage Most Successful in Years

The pilgrimage to the shrine of Our Lady at Marianka, near Bratislava. Slovakia, was the most successful in years. More than 30,000 Slovak Catholics participated, reports N.C.W.C. from Prague.
The motto of this year's pilgrimage was reparation for the insults
against God in our day. A huge wooden cross was carried by the pilgrims from Bratislava to the shrine of Our Lady. University professors, doctors, students, clerks, labourers, army officers and soldiers were among those who took turns carrying the cross. Most of the pilgrims were young people, and about 20.000 received Holy Conununion during the ceremonies.
While thousands joined in this religious event voluntarily. only scattered groups took part in the civic ceremonies sponsored simultaneously in Bratislava by the Slovak Government to commemorate the second anniversary of the liberation
The Feast of Mothers took place in Paris on Saturday last, June 7, under the presidency of Mr. V. Auriol and the Minister of Public Health.
