WHAT A delightful publication is the Walsingham Newsterrer, published by the Director Father Clive Birch SM.
I have just been reading the golden jubilee edition of the Restoration of the Shrine in the Slipper Chapel, spanning the years of the National Shrine from 1934 to 1984.
The Slipper Chapel has been spruced up for the Golden Jubilee. The roof has now been repaired and the Sacristy and Holy Ghost chapel roof and windows have been repaired at a total cost of £35,000.

Some of the original pilgrims of 50 years ago are still with us. notably Bishop Wheeler. and Bruno Scott James, the then priest in charge of the shrine.
The National Pilgrimage this Golden Jubilee Year will be led by Cardinal Hume.

Offers of covenants and donations can be of tremendous help in furthering devotion to Our Lady of Walsingham, which is so much a part of the Conversion of England. a source of prayer for vocations to the priesthood. and prayer for the Isian.ctification of Catholic family fe
