Unity in Sussex

Christian unity in mid-Sussex was demonstrated at the opening of the £40,000 plus St. Edward the Confessor, Keymer, R.C. Church. The ceremony was attended by Anglican clergy and Methodist and United Reformed Church ministers, present with members of their churches, who were welcomed in his Mass address by Bishop Bowen of Arundel and Brighton.
He stressed the importance of unity among Catholics with Christians of all denominations, and their concern for the society, Christian, and non-Christian alike, of which they formed a part.
Following the Mass, which included consecration of the altar, Bishop Bowen consecrated a plaque in memory of the Munster family, members of whom gave the original church and land, and all the priests, religious and faithful whose "prayers and sacrifices built this church to the honour of God ;and oT St. Edward, King and Miss Clare Munster, a member of the Munster family, attended, with Mrs. Agnes Cribb, one of the longest established members of the Keymer Catholic congregation for many years.
