New Editor for Catholic Herald

MR. Gerard Noel, pic tured above, has been appointed Editor of the CATHOLIC HERALD and will take up the appointment early next month. He succeeds Mr. Desmond Albrow, who is going to an executive post on a national Sunday newspaper.
Mr. Noel, 44, is at present Assistant Editor and literary Editor of the CATHOLIC HERALD. He is the author of several books, including biographies of Pope Paul VI, Harold Wilson and Barry Goldwater. A former officer of the Oxford Union, he stood as a Liberal candidate in the 1959 General Election.
Mr. Noel is married with three children. He was at a Jesuit school in the United States and is a graduate of Exeter College, Oxford, where he read history.
