Patients around the altar

Catholic Herald Reporter
PATIENTS in beds and wheel
chairs can be gathered round the altar of the new chapel of St. Vincent's Orittopaedic Hospital, Eastcote, which Archbishop Heenan consecrated on Tuesday.
The chapel, replacing one destroyed by enemy action in 1941, was rebuilt in 1961. Besides being especially wide — to accommodate the beds and wheelchairs, it has double-size confessionals so that patients can be wheeled into them.
Bishop Cashman. Auxiliary of Westminster, and Mgr. Dunderdale consecrated the main and side altars.
Last Saturday, Archbishop Heenan opened new buildings for the Cardinal Vaughan School, Kensington; on Sunday he presided at Mass for the opening of the new church of the Holy Rosary, Marylebone, and on Wednesday he went out to Wealdstone, where he blessed pew buildings for the Salvatorian College.
This week also : Archbishop Murphy of Cardiff opened a new secondary school at Pontypool; Bishop Parker of Northampton laid the foundation stone of t new £35,000 church of Our Lady of Lourdes at Dogsthorpe, Peterborough; Bishop Cowderoy of Southwark has consecrated the church at Purley; Bishop Foley of Lancaster opened the BI. Cuthbert Mayne school in Preston: and Bishop Grasar of Shrewsbury laid the foundation stone of a new church of St. Michael and All Angels, Woodchurch.
