The Archbishop of Westminster has appointed Mgr. Canon Bickford to be his Vicar-General in addition to the Bishop of Cambysopolis, Mgr. Butt. Canon Bickford will remain President of St, Edmund's College, and will take up the duties of VicarGeneral from March 1 next.
Mgr. Bickford will deal with the administrative questions of the diocese, while Mgr. Butt will deal with the more specifically moral side of diocesan affairs. Thus Mgr. Bickford will take under his care appointments and changes, the erection of new parishes, school questions, complaints and the general discipline of the diocese. Mgr. Butt will continue to grant dispensations, faculties and permissions, and to deal with all matters connected with convents and religious orders of men and women.
