16 days of festivities in Fulda

WHILE ameangements are being " completed for the St. Boniface celebrations at Buckfast and Plymouth on June 19 and 20, the 16-day festival in Fulda—where the martyr's relics are enshrined— which began on May 29, has been coming to a climax.
Today (Friday) Abbot Fehrenbacher of Buckfast is celebrating Pontifical High Mass in the cathedral.
Tomorrow Pontifical High Mass by the Bishop of Mainz will begin a series of ceremonies lasting until nearly midnight.
On Sunday Pontifical High Mass will be sung by the Papal Nuncio, Archbishop Muench, and Cardinal Wendel of Munich will preach, and in the afternoon there will be a great procession of the relics of St. Boniface through the city, ending with Solemn Benediction given by Cardinal Frings, Archbishop of Cologne.
The celebrations began on May 29 with the ringing of all the church bells in the diocese and a procession to the cathedral from every parish in the city.
Each day has begun with Pontifical High Mass in the cathedral or in the cathedral square. Among the celebrants were Mgr. Grimm, Bishop Tienshui, who was expelled from Chloe, and Bishop Freusberg from the Erfurt diocese in the Russian
anne Almost every day too the pilgrims have seen a pageant of the missionary life of St. Boniface.
Tomorrow afternoon Fax Christi pilgrims from a number of countries will go in procession to the cathedral, and at 10 p.m. there will be a Pax Christi torchlight procession to the Frauenberg, a sanctuary of Our Lady going back to the days of St. Boniface,
