Bishop Frank Rodimer of Paterson was the celebrant at a July 3 funeral Mass at St Thomas the Apostle Church in Oak Ridge, New Jersey, with about 20 Paulist priests and several diocesan priests concelebrating. Burial followed in the cemetery at the Paulists' Mount Paul novitiate. Fr O'Connor, 81, died after
suffering an apparent heart attack during a walk in North Park Cove. He had retired last year after 23 years as executive director of Straight & Narrow Inc. the drug rehabilitation and social service agency of the Catholic charities secretariat in the Paterson diocese.
