University
he Jesuit school at Cagayan, Philippines, known as the. Ateneo de Cagayrin, has been raised to the rank of a University by the Secretary of Education. Manuel Lint. It is the first University on the island of Mindanao, one of the southernmost of the Philippine group.
To be known in the future as Xavier University, it will have as rector Fr. Francisco Araneta, S.J. Of the other 20 Universities in the Philippines, three are Catholic: Santo Tomas University, Manila, run by the Dominicans; the University of San Augustin, Iloilo, run by the Augustinians; and San Carlos University in Cebu, run by the Divine Word Fathers.
Papal Concert
The Pope will attend a concert by the orchestra and choir of the Italian radio and television network to be given on April 12 in the Hall of Benedictions at the Vatican.
