Crime wave bites hard
A PAIR of false teeth belonging to Archbishop Derek Worlock of Liverpool have been stolen from his home. The set of dentures, which had gold teeth in them, were part of a haul which included a gold ring with the initials DJW on it, gold cufflinks and £40 worth of Italian lira.
DISAPPOINTED by the drop in choirboy applicants, Westminster Cathedral Choir School has resorted to business style measures to boost numbers from the current 90 pupils: it has
appointed a public relations
company. "We want to convey to people that choirboys don't have to be superhuman," says parent Howard Harding. whose company will publicise the school.
THE newly formed Christian Business Alliance, which has grovim out of Christian Directory Enquiries is after considerable prayer and planning to undertake the task of acting as a link between Christian business people. Members of the group will be kept informed through a regular newsletter, periodic magazines and an annual directory of members.
THE Masters and Fellows of SI Edmund's College, a Catholic foundation at Cambridge have elected the Revd Dr Rupert Hoare, Principal of Westeott House, an Anglican theological institute, as the Von Hugel Visiting Fellow for the forthcoming academical 'ear. Dr Hoare will be studying the concept and practice ol justice. as understood in Christian social ethics, as it applies to modern European societies with special referenct to the situation in the United Kingdom.
NEWHAM Churches Immigration Support Group recently' organised a day long vigil of prayer to support a family under threat of deportation. Christians tif all denominations joined in prayer for the Danso family. who face immediate deportation, as well as for all other individuals and families in the East London borough under similar threat.
THE first year of St Richard of Chichester School north London have raised £290 for CAFOD. The fundraising only began in September when the first years joined the school. Included in the many activities were a fainu,,, fast, a sponsored swim and skate, many walks and runs.
HARSH AD Chauhan, Treasurer of National Council of Hindu Temples, and Vice President of the Preston Gujarat Hindu Society, is the newly appointed Inter • Faith project officer in a sponsored project, "linking up" which is committed to increasing church participation in regenerating local economies in urban areas.
