POLISH CONCERT
THE London Symphony orchestra, a bit crowded on the Wigmore Hall platform, had the excellent acoustics of that building to make up for the lack of playing room. M. Tadeusz Jarecki, the Polish conductor, who dispenses with a baton, brought out all the colour of Tchaikovsky'o Fifth Symphony. Once or twice there was a difference of opinion between players and conductor, hut the main impression Was a performance of high merit, G. C.
