Mystery of group's 'missing complaint'

An internal communications failure is embarrassing a London-based group which works to promote dialogue between members of different religions.
Last week the Society for Religious Peace and Family Unity issued a press release saying that it had complained to the Charity Commissioners about the Deo Gloria Trust. Last year there was a wrangle between the two groups about a conference held to discuss the harmful effects of cults such as the Moonies. The society said The Deo Gloria Trust are seeking open spiritual warfare. It is for this reason that we are complaining to the Charity Commissioners."
However, this week a mystified spokesman for the Commissioners said that they had received no complaint' from the society. When told about this the Rev Lloyd Booker, the society's vice-president, said that he had understood that the secretary had forwarded the complaint. The trust was also in the dark. Miss Carol Williams, a Catholic, said that it had not heard anything about it, but that it would be quite happy to cooperate in any investigation.
