Antwerp's Coming Solemnity
Preparations are being made at Antwerp for the solemn reception of the body of Fr. Damien, the great Apostle of the Lepers, on its arrival at the port on Sunday, May 3.
After the landing from the Mercator, the casket is to be taken to the great one-time cathedral in a procession which is likely to be witnessed by many thousands of spectators.
English pilgrims en route for Bruges, for the annual procession of the Holy Blood, will be spending that night in the Queen's Hotel, and as that building is situated directly opposite the landing-stage, they will be in a fortunate situation for seeing the disembarkation and the start of the procession.
This year the Bruges pilgrimage is being led by the Bishop of Lamus, Mgr. Myers.
