DOROTHY SAYERS

Author of 'Man Born to be King' dies
CATHOLICS, among many others, will have learnt wilh particular regret of the death, on Tuesday. of Dorothy L. Sayers, best-known for her first class detective stories.
Though an Anglican herself, her religion was founded on a rigorous and unsentimental theology of Catholic teaching and tradition. Because of this she was able to write the successful radio drama. "The Man Born to be King," which must have done an immense amount to make contemporaries understand the significance of the life of Our Lord. She also translated Dante in an accurate, scholarly, and delightful way.
In co-operation with Catholics in different discussions and studygroups. she would always be a tower of strength. May she rest in peace.
