Young people explore Church teaching on sex

YOUNG PEOPLE from across Europe gathered in Westminster Cathedral Hall, London, on February 24 for a conference on Catholic teaching on sex and relationships.

The "Give Me Sensible Reasons To Believe" day conference, backed by the Catholic Agency to Support Evangelisation. was the first of its kind and was inspired by Pope John Paul ll's Theology of the Body. Dr Charlie O'Don nell, the event organiser, said the aim of the conference was to "unpack what the Church really teaches, which is so much more life-giving than many young people get to see".

Young Catholic speakers covered topics such as sex before marriage. physical relationships, abortion, contraception and homosexuality. Cardinal Cormac Murphy0"Cannor joined the young people briefly.
