A CATHOLIC aid agency has demanded the immediate release of a British aiticorruption activist arrested in Angola.
Dr Sarah Wykes , sho works for the non-goven mental organisation Global Witness, was taken from ler hotel by armed police in the oil-rich province of Cabilda and held in prison.
She was bailed three drys later but has grit/ not hen given details of the charms against her and is forbidder to leave the country.
Cafod, the overseas deelopment agency of the Bihops' Conference of Englnd and Wales, has joined he 300-member Publish Wat You Pay anti-corruption edition to ask the Angcan government to drop le charges against Dr Wykes "Cafod is calling for se Angolan government to clap all charges against Dr Wyes immediately and unconitionally and to allow hero leave Angola at once," sal a Cafod spokeswoman.
