FR AMBROSE GRIF}ITHS, OSB, is the new Abbot of Ampleforth. He was elected by his fellow monks on Wednesday to replace Abbot Basil Hume the former Abbot, now the Archbishop of Westminster. The installation of Abbot Griffiths who has been Procurator of the monastery since 1972, will take place on May 5.
