miracle proposed in the beatification cause of Pope Pius X was read in the presence of the Holy Father at a meeting of Cardinals, consultors and prelate-officials of the Sacred Congregation of Rites on Sunday at Castel Gandolfo.
Two tuto decrees—declaring that it is safe to proceed to beatification were also read.
They concerned the causes of the Ven. Alderico Crescitelli, an Italian missionary who died a martyr in the Boxer Rebellion in China in 1900, and the Ven. Maria de Mattias, Italian founder of the Sisters Adorers of the Most Precious Blood, who will be beatified on October 1.
A fourth decree approved the miracles advanced for the beatification of the Canadian Ven. Marguerite Bourgeois, founder of the Sisters of Our Lady. She will be beatified on November 19.
