Brixton riot

BEFORE WE condemn the SPG. NF, ANL, Black Power Movement or whoever, for Brixton, we must realise that it is our fault — we learned no lesson from Bristol's nightmare — for so long as people of whatever race. colour or creed are deprived of a livelihood. forced to live in poorer areas of our city. and exploited by those who seek power— this sort of meaningless violence will erupt — neither the residents of Brixton. nor the police should be used as scapegoats — but us — you — for allowing such conditions to exist and being passive in the face of a system that tolerates such injustice.
