Nigerian Catholic Herald: A Jubilee

EBUTE METTA, NIGERIA.

The Nigerian Catholic Herald, a weekly published at Elute Metta by St. Paul's Catholic Press, and the only Catholic paper in Nigeria, has just celebrated its 25th anniversary.

It was established in 1924 by Bishop Ferdinand Terrien. Its first issues were printed in English and in the vernacular. 'Yoruba. The present editor is the Reg. E. Birmingham S.M.A.

The paper has long conducted a campaign to show the beauty of a truly Christian family life. It has also provided the chief answer to the anti-Catholic propaganda coming from six papers in the country, known as die blast chain of papers.
