ARCHBISHOP CRITICISES U.S. POLICY

Mgr. Richard Cushing, Archbishop of Boston, criticised the present U.S. foreign policy at giving aid to Communist Yugoslavia, while at the same time refusing to help Spain and Nationalist China.

Speaking at the annual Boston Diocesan convention of the Holy Name Society, Archbishop Cushing said: "it is an appalling piece of hypocrisy which talks of relief to starving Yugoslavia and yet seeks to starve Spain."

The U.S. Catholic War Veterans have suggested that the United States should. for humanitarian reasons, send relief supplies to Yugoslavia, but on condition that the Communist authorities there end religious persecution of•Catholics.
