THE VATICAN cardinal who signed the Personal Ordinariate into existence came to London last week to support its appeal for funds.
Cardinal William Levada, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, called the ordinariate “the Pope’s project” and compared it to the Ambrosian Rite, a form of liturgy used by about five million Catholics. The event was hosted by Archbishop Vincent Nichols of Westminster and sponsored by The Catholic Herald and the Friends of the Ordinariate.
