A FORMER religion editor of Newsweek has criticised the New York Times for its attempts to link the Pope with abuse cover-up and accused the paper of creating its “own version of the scandal”.
Kenneth Woodward argued in a Commonweal article that the Times has not been fair in its “allhands-on-deck drive to implicate the Pope in diocesan cover-ups of abusive priests”.
