A Room and a Half

12A CERT, 130 MINS

A Room and a Half is loosely based on the life of the Russian Jewish poet Joseph Brodsky (1940-1996), who was born in Leningrad, expelled from Russia, emigrated to the US in the early 1970s and won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1987. This long meditation on memory and loss is directed by Andrey Khrzhanovsky, the Russian animator. The cast includes Grigoriy Dityatkovskiy, Artem Smola, and Evgeniy Ogandzhanyan. Andrew M Brown
