Cardiff students demonstrate against abortions

THE STUDENTS’ Pro Life Group is a small but committed group of activists at Cardiff University. They recently put on a demonstration, or “Pro-Life Chain”, to draw attention to the pro-life cause and the protection of the unborn child. The Soci ety for the Protection of the Unborn Child generously supports the students, as does Archbishop Peter Smith of Cardiff.

It is to be regretted that so few adults turned out for the protest. Fr Gareth Jones, the chaplain, said he was very moved by the commitment of the group, though they were few in number. They included a doctor and a trainee doctor.

The demonstration was one of 51 protests that took place around Britain. Small groups stood at intervals along the busy northern route into Cardiff. Also two MA media studies students interviewed the protestors as well as people and car passengers along the road. They used this as an opportunity to complete a radio programme assignment.
