Fr Corbishley honoured at Abbey

There will be sung Evensong in Westminster Abbey at 5 pm, on Monday May 17 in memory of the late Fr Tom Corbishley, SJ. His Requiem Mass at Farm Street some weeks ago was attended by a large number of distinguished Anglican churchmen, among whom Fr Corbishley had numerous close friends.

Thanks to Little Way

The Little Way Association has received a letter of thanks of its cheque of £l.004 sent to Fr Joseph Walijewski in Peru. The money was used to help "Fr Joe's" mission work in that country. Fr Joe described Little Way as "an organisation of living saints," His own work in Peru is now better known since last Sunday's television show.

Almost simultaneously a report has been received by Little Way in London from their special representative in Guatemala. where effects of the February earthquake are still visible. The report states that the Guatemalan Army as well as such relief organisations as Caritas. Catholic Relief Services, CARE, Oxfam — and the members of religious orders where possible are still hard at work.

Lowering of marriage age opposed

The bishops of Puerto Rico have expressed opposition to a Bill in the Puerto Rican Congress lowering the present legal age for marriage.

i hey said that in the last seven years, 32 of every 100 marriages had ended in divorce, and that this was hardly a trend to favour lowering the marriage age.
