Canonisation of Blessed Ogilvie

A national pilgrimage office has been set up to deal with arrangements for the October canonisation of Blessed John Ogilvie. A letter issued to all parishes, religious houses and schools in Scotland this week advises people travelling to Rome that they will have to apply to the office for the official admission tickets for the St Peter's ceremony.

The letter, signed by Archbishop Winning of Glasgow on behalf of all the Scottish bishops, says the official announcement of a canonisation is not expected until the next Consistory on May 24, but it is expected that Pope Paul will canonise Blessed John on October 17.

Independent groups or individuals should apply direct to the pilgrimage office at 19 Park Circus, Glasgow G3.
