HOW MANY SPEAK WELSH ONLY

SIR,-I support wholeheartedly the propagation of Welsh among Welsh people; I even favour the propagation of English among English people. But I am somewhat puzzled by the assertion that we must have priests who speak Welsh " as to the manner born " before We can hope for a re-birth of Catholicism in Wales. Before acquiescing, I should be glad to know what percentage of the two million population of Wales speak only the Welsh language. And what percentage speak Welsh as well as they do English 7 It seems probable that only those would need Welsh-speaking priests.
