London's First Council Inaugurated C.Y.M.S.

The first London District Council of the Catholic Young Men's Society was inaugurated last Sunday at the headquarters of the Westminster Cathedral Branch in Vauxhall Bridge Road. Bro. J. S. McAnulty, President of the National Executive Council, accompanied by Bros. W. Waldron fSecretary) and J. McKeowen (Treasurer) presided at the meeting, which included delegates from Bayswater, Wembley, Westminster Cathedral, Greenford and Muswell Hill.

The President announced that the Archbishop of Westminster had appointed Fr. Francis Holland, 0.S.C., as Chaplain to the new Council. Bro. R. Manners, President of the Bayswater branch, was elected Sec retary. A Committee consisting of Fr. F. Holland, Fr. C. Carr and Bro. Manners was then formed for the purpose of organising C.Y.M.S. propaganda, the immediate object of which is to extend the Society throughout the London area.

It is hoped that many of the existing organisations of Catholic men in London parishes will become affiliated to the C.Y.M.S., forming one united body in the cause of Catholic Action.

The new council will meet on the first Sunday of each month, at the above headquarters.
