St Francis Leprosy Guild

We were interested to read Peter Jennings's appreciation of Dr Stanley Browne and his work for the Leprosy Mission (May 31). We have received much advice from the Leprosy Mission, a non-Catholic society, and from LEPRA, which is nonsectarian, St Francis leprosy Guild does not run Colonies, hut helps to provide funds for Catholic religious working in 120 Colonies throughout the world.

We were happy to take part in the recent centenary celebrations of the I.eprosy Mission, and every year, with them, LEPRA, and the Order of Charity, we pray together at our Ecumenical Service in London, on World Leprosy Day.

Dr Browne has been decorated by the Sovereign Order of Malta.

Sir Harold Hood, President St. Francis Leprosy Guild, 20 The Boltons, London, SW10
