Deacon Grynowski, who will be ordained priest by Bishop David McGough, Auxiliary Bishop of Birmingham, on Saturday, July 8, at St Giles church, Cheadle in Staffordshire, spent his pre-ordination retreat at Quarr Abbey, the Benedictine monastery near Ryde, on the Isle of Wight.
Meanwhile, Deacon Richard Sharpies will be ordained by Archbishop Vincent Nichols at St Chad's Cathedral, Birmingham, also on Saturday, July 8. Deacon Peter Noon will be ordained by Bishop Philip Pargeter at St Austin's, Stafford,,on Saturday, July 15, and Deacon Paul Haines, will be ordained by the Archbishop of Birmingham at St George's, Worcester, on Saturday, July 22.
Deacon Grynowski, who trained for the priesthood at St Mary's College, Oscott, the diocesan seminary, said: "I am looking forward with great joy to being, like my brother priest, a co-worker with Archbishop Vincent Nichols and Bishop Phillip Pargeter and Bishop David McGough in ministry to the people of the Archdiocese of Birmingham."
He added: "My pre-ordination retreat in the beauty and tranquillity of Quarr Abbey has been an excellent space to pray and reflect on the future and God's providence for me. My thanks go to Abbot Cuthbert and the Community."
