Marble from Siena

FOR NEW B1'RNHAN1 ALTAR A new altar of marble from the battlefields of Siena was given to the war-swelled congregation of the parish of Burnham, Bucks, on Sunday. June 25. It is a handsome work and the beautiful Italian stone is complemented with marbles from England and France. The Rev. D. Brannan celebrated the first Mass on the new altar and Canon Davidson, of Sloueh, preached to the congregation, which overflowed the recently enlarged church, to the streets outside.
