BOMB FELL Wolf Cub (10) went on Serving Mass

Ten-year-old George Hough, a Southetn England Wolf Cub, who went on serving Mass with his face cut through glass splintered by a flyingbomb, has been congratulated on his heroism by the Archbishop of Westminster.

His " Akela " recounted the story to theArchbishop as follows: .• During the 10 o'clock Mass one day, a flying-bomb passed overhead and dropped within fifty yards of the church, which caused the glass from the windows to fly in all directions. George was serving on the Altar at the time, and 'although his face was badly cut, he stayed on until Mass was finished, and did not flinch.

" At eight o'clock ikat sonic evening we had Benediction, and George Hough wag the only boy on the Altar. I spoke to him after and saw how ill he looked, and I am not quite sure whether he has not got a piece of glass In Ids eye. His face

was beaming through it all. • " I have taught my boys to have the ' Wolf Cub loin ' — and he certainly bad his. The parish priest remarked to me how brave the boy had beep, and I might add that every morning during times of extreme danger, the Ploy has served the 7.30 Mass."
