Step forward music makers

HAVE YOU ever tried writing music for parish worship, for your college chaplaincy or your religious community? Are you a music lover or a music student? If so, you are welcome to a weekend of writing music for worship, at Turvey Abbey, Bedfordshire.

There will be input, discussion, and an opportunity to write music, and hear it performed. Participants are asked to bring with them a piece they have already written, such as a psalm, hymn or Mass setting.

The weekend will begin on Friday April 11 at 6pm with monastic vespers, and end on Sunday at 4pm. Cost: £28. This includes accommodation and food.

Turvey is a Benedictine Abbey in the countryside on the Bedford-Northampton road. Access by coach or train from London to Bedford. The Bedford-Northampton bus nos 128 and 129 go past the door.
